Embrace Your Strengths for a Fulfilled Life

Whether we like it or not, we live in a society where predetermined standards define success. To be considered smart, you must attain certain grades. To secure a promotion, one must possess a skill set that may not necessarily align with their innate traits. While these standards possess merit, they frequently leave individuals who deviate from these norms feeling disheartened.

However, always recall the wisdom of Winnie the Pooh:

“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.”

Many individuals invest significant time and effort into improving their weaknesses, often at the cost of neglecting their strengths. Yet, this approach is comparable to expecting a non-athletic individual to excel in athletics. While such efforts may yield results early in one's academic or career journey, they are typically unsustainable in the long term and can result in a sense of stagnation in academic or career progression.

Instead, you should live your life by aligning more towards your strengths.

Here are some ways you can do that:

  1. Discover the individuals and communities who need you the most

Sometimes, the simplest approach is to express your opinions on social media on topics you're passionate about. The individuals who engage with your content become your community and tribe. Believe me, when you discover your tribe sharing the same goals and passions, you'll mutually support and uplift each other, making every day a shared journey of encouragement and growth.

  2. Find the business that need you the most

Begin by understanding industries and categories that resonate with you, whether it's healthcare, pet care, real estate, AI, or others. When you invest your efforts in areas that genuinely matter to you, your passion will shine through in your daily work. This authenticity not only enhances your performance but also fosters opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships and growth.

  3. Engage in passion projects that resonate with you the most

Devote your time to projects that genuinely bring you joy and fulfillment. By consistently pursuing activities you're passionate about, you may find yourself on a path where your hobby projects evolve into thriving ventures and possibly, a successful business endeavor.

Personally, I consider self-awareness a true blessing. Recognizing early in my career that navigating office politics isn't my forte and because of that I've faced challenges advancing to director or VP roles. Despite my love for the industry I'm in, I also understand the dangers of stagnation, knowing it can lead to the demise of one's spirit. To counter this, I've found solace and fulfillment by pursuing my passion in real estate, a journey that has evolved into a sustainable and rewarding business opportunity for which I feel fortunate.

Remember, there's something out there uniquely meant for you.
